How to Extract Pages from a PDF (Save Only the Pages You Need)
Open Split & extractFree · works in your browser · no upload→Sometimes you need only part of a document: one chapter of a book, the signature page of a contract, or a single statement from a year of bank records. Extracting those pages gives you a smaller, focused PDF.
Extract pages in your browser
- Open Split PDF and add your PDF. You'll see a thumbnail of every page.
- Tap the pages you want, or type them in the page box:
1-10for a range5, 20, 31for individual pages1-3, 8, 12-15for a mix of both
- Choose the output: one PDF with all the selected pages, or each page as a separate PDF (downloaded together as a ZIP).
- Press Extract pages and download the result.
Quick picks (first 5 or 10 pages, odd or even pages, the last page) save typing on long documents. There is also an option to remove the selected pages and keep the rest.
Using "Print to PDF"
On any computer, you can also open the PDF, choose Print, set the printer to Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF, and enter a page range. This works, but it can lose links and bookmarks, and it doesn't split pages into separate files.
Common uses
- Visa and job portals that ask for the "first page of the passport" or a single certificate.
- Sharing a chapter of a long report without sending the whole file.
- Removing blank pages from a scan: select the blank pages and choose Remove selected pages.
- Splitting a combined scan into separate documents.
After extracting
Need it smaller? Use Compress PDF. Need to combine pages from different files? Extract them from each one, then join them with Merge PDF.
